This event is sold out

"Dr. Wisdom is a trained instructor in “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work" by Dr. John Gottman. The two-day retreat/workshop is based on this book and is designed to help couples enhance their relationships by teaching them practical strategies and skills for building a strong and lasting marriage.

  1. Introduction: The workshop begins with an introduction to the concept of the seven principles and an overview of what participants can expect to learn and achieve during the workshop retreat.

  2. Presentation of Principles: Each of the seven principles will be explained in detail, with examples and anecdotes to illustrate their importance and application in real-life relationships. Dr. Wisdom will use videos, slides, or interactive exercises to engage participants and deepen their understanding of each principle.

  3. Discussion and Reflection: After each principle is presented, participants will have the opportunity to discuss how it relates to their own relationship experiences. Couples will be encouraged to reflect on the strengths and areas for improvement in each aspect of their own relationship.

  4. Skill-Building Activities: The workshop will include various activities and exercises designed to help couples develop practical skills based on the principles discussed. These activities will include role-playing scenarios, communication exercises, problem-solving tasks, and mindfulness practices aimed at strengthening emotional connection and intimacy within your relationship.

  5. Application to Real-Life Situations: Throughout the workshop, couples will be encouraged to apply the principles and skills they've learned to real-life situations and challenges in their relationships. With guidance and support from Dr. Wisdom, couples will practice implementing the principles in their daily lives.

  6. Group Sharing and Support: The workshop will create a supportive environment where couples can share their experiences, ask questions, and offer encouragement to one another. Group discussions and sharing sessions can foster a sense of community and provide additional insights and perspectives on relationship dynamics.

  7. Closure and Next Steps: At the end of the workshop, couples will have the opportunity to reflect on what they've learned and discuss their goals for the future of their relationship. Dr. Wisdom will provide resources and recommendations for further study or follow-up, such as additional reading materials, counseling options, or ongoing support groups.

This workshop, based on "The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work," aims to empower couples with practical tools and insights to strengthen their relationships and build a foundation for a happy and fulfilling marriage.
